Current Professional Experience As a member of legal community since 1989, Kim Byrd is admitted to the practice of law in the states of New York, New Jersey and Florida. Kim established Byrd Legal Counsel, PA in January 2001, as a general practice law firm that strives to meet the legal needs of the Tampa Bay community. In creating his own law practice, Kim enabled himself to become a legal advocate for those who are traditionally under-served by the existing legal system. He is intimately familiar with the unique legal challenges faced by racial, ethnic and sexual minority groups, as well as those who are differently-abled. Kim is keenly aware of how the personal bias of those in public service sometimes plays a role in the legal process and he works to counter this inherent unfairness. As a general practice law firm, we have extensive experience in all of the following areas:
Past Professional Experience Prior to Kim's relocation back to his home state of Florida, he worked for a large top-level New York law firm, Anderson Kill Olick & Oshinsky, as a case manager specializing in the area of insurance litigation. Educational Experience
Kim continues his rigorous legal education in all areas of his practice through the Florida Continuing Legal Education (CLE) program, including course work with the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and Masters of DUI. Kim remains on the cutting edge of the rapidly changing area of Alternative Family Law through his participation at the Lavender Law Conference.
