About Attorney Kim Byrd

I am a native of the Florida panhandle.  I went to community college and then to the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. For law school I chose New York Law School located in New York City close to the courts and the World Trade Center. My diverse life experiences help me in understanding the needs of my clients.

After several years working for a large law firm in New York, I decided to return to Florida. I have lived and worked in the Tampa Bay area since 1998 and have been practicing Family Law and Estate Planning since 2001. I find fulfillment in helping individuals, not corporations, with their legal needs.

Giving back to the community is important to me. I have been awarded annually for my pro bono services and volunteer work with Bay Area Legal Services, which provides legal aid in the Tampa area.

Integrity

Integrity means putting your best interest first. It means working with you to reduce your fees, instead of increasing my income. It means giving you candid advice, even if you won't hire me.

Communication

Communication means keeping you informed of developments in your case, consulting with you about strategic decisions and returning your calls and emails as soon as practicable.

Knowledge

Knowledge means attending family law review classes, staying current on legal education requirements and conducting specific research on legal issues that might affect your case.
